This is an all in one kit, it contains all the food, water and air exchange needed to grow mushrooms. For the 2LB kit you need 10ml of solution and for the 4LB kit you need 20ml.
- How to use; clean an area, wash your hands, wipe down the surfaces, close any windows and doors and have all your equipment neatly arranged in your workspace.
- How to prepare syringe: Remove the syringe, needle and alcohol wipe from the plastic sleeve, open the sterile needle. Unscrew the syringe stopper and screw the needle onto the syringe in its place.
- How to prepare kit: Remove the kit from clear bag and wipe down the black circular injection port and surrounding areas on the grow bag with the supplied alcohol wipe. This disinfects the surface and minimises risk of introducing contamination during the inoculation.
- How to inoculate: Remove the needle cap and insert the needle through the injection port. Inject your solution, aiming to inject small amounts in multiple areas/ directions. Some directly into the substrate and some against the inside of the bag so it runs down and covers the front of the substrate. Remove the needle once all the solution is injected, replace the needle cap on the needle. Tape over the injection port.
- How to incubate: Place the bag stood upright in a warm place out of direct sunlight with the clear bag supplied over the top of the filter bag. Ideal temperature for the kit is 24ºC ( 75ºF), keep within a range of 22ºC-26ºC (71ºF-78ºF) for best results. If using a heat mat or external heat source then heat the surrounding air and not the bag directly. Do not disturb or move the kit, you will see growth within 3 days, the growth should be white. After 7-14 days there should be a large section of mycelium, once it covers 20% of the substrate you can massage the mycelium through the bag to crumble the growth. Once broken down you then mix the substrate evenly so the growth is spread throughout.
- How to fruit: When the substrate is fully colonised, covered completely in white mycelium, remove the clear bag to maximise air exchange, make sure the kit is upright and inflated. Wait patiently for the block to produce fruiting bodies, they are ready to harvest just before the veils break. Wash your hands, cut along the top of the bag and reach in, gently pinch at the base of the stem, twist and pull to harvest. The open top can be folded over and closed, wait again for another flush. After two flushes fill the bag just below the filter strip with water and leave for 6 hours to rehydrate, pour out excess water and return to fruiting.
I will state that I can only comment on how the products looked/arrived ect. I can leave a review in the future once we know the results
However substrate arrived very fast and was packed well and discreetly.
Thought it seemed like a very reasonable price for the substrate especially considering the fact it contained manure.
So far so good. Thank you!
